My fairytale wedding

I found it.  I hadn't been looking, to be honest.  I consider myself much like all brides.... bridal blog-ing, pinterest-ing, martha stewart-ing.  Until my Mom (Mother knows best!) showed me the pages to this wedding of Emilia Wickstead, a European fashion designer, and I instantly fell in love.  Inspiration for September 8th has gone to a whole new level!

I haven't stopped thinking about her dress since I saw this shot.  She designed it herself, along with the bridesmaid gowns.

White garden roses, yes please.

The beading in this overlay for the church is unreal!

Love the look of different silhouettes with the hair pull straight back on the maids.

Atrendy Wedding

I had so much fun working with Lauren of Atrendy Wedding on this August affair at the W hotel in downtown DC.  Lauren had a vision, and I was happy I could help execute it with the day of paper.   Here are so gorgeous photos by the photographer Rodney Bailey.

And on Wednesdays We Wear Pink

When I was 12, my bedroom was bubble gum pink.  I hated it (hello adolescences).  I was so over that little girl color, and begged my Mom to paint it a sage green.  Now, sixteen years later I wish I could have a pink bedroom.  There is something about the femininity of this color that just makes anything look pretty

Oh, and I'm thinking of doing my wedding colors in shades of pink with white.  Let me know if you see any pretty pink bridesmaid dresses!

A Long Winters Nap

I took a long Winters nap with the blog throughout December and well, till right about now.  I needed to plan as the new year approached, and visualize where I wanted this little blog and website to go. (You should have seen my to-do lists) I have been working, procrastinating, having epiphanies, and planning out my new website and logo design.  Ask Cathy from Love Inspired who is helping me with this project.  She'll tell you.  I'm so grateful to her... as much like my wedding Save the Dates, I cannot decide on anything for my own personal projects.  You really are your biggest critic!

I have declared 2012 the year of change.  For many reasons, but mostly the new website and blog to come, and oh yea the fact that I'm getting married(!).  I'm not scared about this change.  This is good change. I hope you'll join me in seeing what's to come. Bring it on 2012.

One of the 400 million amazing things about life is that we always have the ability to chose and change.  We grow and learn How we react, adapt, and chose is not done so by happenstance, it's done so by us and our choices. So as I put on my stretchy pants, and pull my seat up to the thanksgiving table (please pass the mashed potatoes), I am giving thanks to something unusual this year. The blessing of being present in life, and choosing my circumstances.
